Arthur Freeheart : New Board Member
Position: Board Member
I joined the Potsdam Co-op in 1973 at the encouragement of one of its founding members. I rejoined in 2006 after returning to Northern NY from a little over two decades in Minneapolis-St. Paul. I served as a Board member and as a deli core worker in the 2010s. I am semi-retiring this month and have time and energy to devote to active Board service.
I worked at several food co-ops in Minneapolis as a member and as an employee. My main professional area was produce. I bring experience in other food co-op environments, a commitment to the survival of our co-op and a solid belief in the relevance and the efficacy of cooperative principles.
I believe the Co-op is adapting well to changes in the food industry while maintaining ”shopper first” priorities. I think we could do a better job of reaching customers outside the natural foods niche. My vision for the Co-op’s future is grounded in an expectation of sound marketing and financial decision making. I am a change-positive person who is exceptionally adaptable. and ready to help handle the challenges we face as a business and as a community.
