Paula Red tree was a chance seedling in 1960 in Sparta, Michigan. Lewis Arrends named the new, tasty variety after his wife Pauline. Suggested uses: Naturally pink applesauce, juicing, eating fresh, roasted, baked ( apples break down quickly), sautéed, pies (great in pies when combined with firmer varieties of apples), sliced.
